Netflix says that 100 million viewers watch the service using passwords borrowed from friends or family members. While the service historically has looked the other way, it’s preparing to roll out measures to shut down the practice.
Netflixによると、1億人が友人や家族から借りたパスワードを使ってサービスを視聴しているそうです。これまでは黙認してきましたが、2023年よりこうした行為への対策を実施していく予定ということです。
Netflixがパスワード共有にどのように対処するかはまだ不明ですが、ヘルプセンターには、アカウントを共有できるのは同居している人に限られ、IPアドレスやデバイスIDなどを監視することでルールを実施するとあるということです。
Netflixでは広告付きの低価格プランを提供することで、こうしたユーザーの受け皿としたい考えです。
