初代「iPad mini」販売終了

Appleが、2012年10月にリリースした初代「iPad mini」の販売を終了しました。Apple Storeの一覧からも消えています。引き続き「iPad mini 2 」「iPad mini 3」が販売されています。Apple quietly pulls original iPad mini from web site and Apple Store | 9to5Macという記事になっていました。

The original iPad mini has quietly disappeared from Apple’s web site, and is no longer available to purchase new from the Apple Store. Introduced in October 2012, the first iPad mini established the industrial design that was subsequently used in the iPad mini 2 and iPad mini 3, as well as the larger but otherwise nearly identical iPad Air and iPad Air 2.

あのサイズ感は非常に気に入っており、常に携行するガジェットの一つになっていました。ただ、新しい「MacBook」が十分に持ち運べるサイズなので、役割としては今は電子書籍リーダーとなっています。

これでRetina Displayではない「iPad mini」の販売は終了しました。最安は「iPad mini 2」WiFiモデルの31,800円となります。
