2019年にスタートしたGoogleのクラウドゲーミングサービス「Google Stadia」が、2023年1月に終了することが発表されました。A message about Stadia and our long term streaming strategyとして発表されています。
A few years ago, we also launched a consumer gaming service, Stadia. And while Stadia’s approach to streaming games for consumers was built on a strong technology foundation, it hasn’t gained the traction with users that we expected so we’ve made the difficult decision to begin winding down our Stadia streaming service.
「Google Stadia」のコンシューマー向けゲームストリーミングのアプローチは強力な技術基盤の上に成り立っていたものの、期待したほどの支持が得られなかったため、サービス終了するという判断に至ったということです。
「Google Store」で購入されたすべてのStadiaハードウェア、およびStadia Storeで購入されたすべてのゲームおよびアドオンコンテンツが払い戻されるというのは良心的です。
2023年1月18日まではゲームライブラリにアクセスし、プレイすることができます。
日本でサービスを開始することなく「Google Stadia」は終了することになりました。
