MacRumorsによると、Appleは「AirPods Pro」を「AirPods Extreme」とすることを検討していたことが明らかになったそうです。AirPods Pro Were Almost Named AirPods Extremeという記事になっていました。
In the months leading up to Apple announcing the AirPods Pro in October 2019, the company considered changing the name of the wireless headphones to AirPods Extreme, according to internal information obtained by MacRumors.
「AirPods Extreme」が検討されていた
MacRumorsが入手した内部情報によると、Appleは2019年10月に「AirPods Pro」を発表するまでの数か月間に、名前を「AirPods Extreme」とすることを検討していたのだとか。
これは経営陣から提案されたもので、しかし多くの従業員が反対したということです。
Appleは過去に「AirMac Extreme」というブランドを使用していたことがあります。Extremeは“エクストリームスポーツ”のような使い方をされますね。
結果的にAppleには様々な「Pro」製品があるので「AirPods Pro」で良かったのでしょう。「Apple Vision Pro」もそうですし。そう考えると「Max」や「Ultra」はどうなるでしょうね？
