Taiwanese supplier ASE Technology has started production of optical sensors for next-generation AirPods slated to launch in the third quarter of 2021, according to industry sources cited in a paywalled DigiTimes story preview today.
台湾のサプライヤーであるASE Technology社が、2021年第3四半期に発売予定の次世代AirPods用光学センサーの生産を開始したことが報じられたと伝えています。
AppleのアナリストであるMing-Chi Kuo氏も、新しい「AirPods」は2021年第3四半期に量産を開始すると伝えているそうです。
第3世代の新しい「AirPods」は、ステムが短くなるなど「AirPods Pro」と同様のデザインになると予想されるものの、シリコン製のイヤーチップやアクティブノイズキャンセリング機能はなく、低価格化が図られると見られています。
新入学にあわせて購入しよう‥‥と考えていた人もいるかもしれませんが、発売は少し先に持ち越しになりそうです。
