Macworldによれば、中国ではHuaweiが「Vision Pro」の商標を持っているそうで、Huawei 'Vision Pro' trademark might block the sale of Apple's new headset in Chinaという記事になっていました。
It’s only been a week since Apple Vision Pro was revealed to the world, and the mixed-reality headset already has an identity crisis brewing. According to a report by MyDrivers, the moniker “Vision Pro” has been trademarked in China by Huawei, a maker of electronic devices.
Appleが「Vision Pro」というヘッドセットデバイスを発表しましたが、その「Vision Pro」という名称は、中国ではHuaweiが商標登録しているのだそうです。
HuaweiにはVisionというテレビのラインナップがあり、そのための商標だと見られています。
ただ、Appleは商標問題には慣れており、iPhoneも2007年の発表当時はCiscoが所有していた商標で、最終的にはAppleが使用できる契約になりました。日本でも、iPhoneの商標はアイホン株式会社のライセンスに基づいて使用されています。
さらに、Appleは長年にわたり、Apple Recordsと何度も商標権で争っているとも。ただし、Huaweiと合意することができなければ、Appleは中国では「Vision Pro」という名称ではデバイスを発売することはできなくなります。
当然、Appleとしとは調査済みであり、何らかの見込みがあるから名称を決定している‥‥と思いたいですが。
